Toronto’s crack-smoking Mayor, Rob Ford, gets special treatment from The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart. The first part of the segment, above, features Ford’s greatest hits of Mayoral clangers. The second – featuring Canadian Samantha Bee – pokes fun at Canada’s ‘crack’ culture. if your’e wondering, Ford still has his job.

Abercrombie and Fitch has a big PR challenge. A&F recently came under fire for not making XXL clothing so Greg Karber launched a viral campaign to take on the clothing brand and its owner, 68-year-old Mike Jeffries. Jeffries was recently quoted as saying:

“That’s why we hire good-looking people in our stores. Because good-looking people attract other good-looking people, and we want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don’t market to anyone other than that. In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids. Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.

Karber brilliantly decided to find A&F clothing at thrift stores and handed them out to the homeless. He also made the video above. Karber is a writer, performer and video-maker who describes himself as a cultural critic. Nicely done.

A group of New York Knicks fans may have been responsible for a gay bashing in Manhattan. According to FOX News, a gay couple was taunted and viciously attacked by the group of men in their 20′s who seemed to be upset their tem lost a playoff game. One of the victims suffered a broken nose.

The couple — Nick Porter and Kevin Atkins — were walking in Midtown on 8th Ave between West 34th and 35th Street, when they were confronted by the group, they said.

Porto said that he and Atkins, 22, were walking arm-in-arm down Eighth Avenue after a leisurely brunch when a group of men he said were in their early-to-mid 20s and wearing Knicks jerseys started shouting slurs at the couple.

“They called us f—-ts,” said Porto, a clothing designer. “They made fun of my jeans — I made the jeans myself, for that day.”

When Porto turned around and asked why they were shouting at him, the group of men knocked the pair to the ground and began to violently kick and punch them, he said.

“Fists started flying. I was on the ground, and the only thing I could do, I reached out and grabbed someone’s hair,” Porto said.

Surveillance video has revealed one of the people of interest.  If you see this man call the police.

DJ Peter Rauhofer has lost his battle with brain cancer according to a post on his Facebook page.

The 48 year old club music icon was diagnosed with a brain tumor a few weeks ago. Tributes to the Grammy winning producer and remixer online:

Breaking: BBC journalist tweets three explosions have gone off in Tehran near a military facility. Jerusalem Post reports:

Three explosions were heard in western Tehran on Tuesday, in an area where Iran carries out missile research and storage, according to a Tweet by a BBC Persian journalist.

The blasts follow Israeli raids on missiles in Damascus, Syria. Israel said the missiles (similar to those pictured below) were an Iranian shipment on the way to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Great explainer story at the top of the page from NBC’s brilliant Richard Engel.

Difficult to get information from Iran but the Tweet is gaining steam.

It’s not the first time mysterious explosions have rocked the capital. As JP points out:

A mysterious and massive explosion rocked a military arms depot near Tehran in November 2011, killing 17 Revolutionary Guards Corps officers and wounding 17 others.

Here’s Jason Collins’ first interview after coming out as gay. Collins became the first male out pro player in any major sport when he made the revelation yesterday. He tells ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos he never set out to be the first but the decision has brought him happiness.
