We give Michigan teen Diane McNease credit for creativity and for shunning the trend of extremely opulent and pricey prom dresses. Diane went to her prom wrapped in candy wrappers – yep she carefully crafted a dress made from donated Starburst remains.
Diane McNease came up with the idea of making her prom dress out of Starburst wrappers when she saw a friend folding some wrappers a year ago. It took her a year and a half to collect enough wrappers to make the corset of her dress. To go along with it, she also made matching hair bands and a purse. She says it took around 18,000 wrappers.
